growing up in her parents hippie surf shop in the 70’s, owner and creator fibi has always been surrounded by beaches, surf, palm tress and a tonne of incense, which might explain the beachy feels of the commonfolk collective.

fibi has always loved the ritual of burning candles, "I think it can totally transform your mood and set the tone for whatever it is you’re doing, ambiance when with friends, creating calmness after work or restoring your energy when in the bath, so when I say our candles will calm your space and sooth your soul ....I literally mean it. Life is mostly made up of habits and moments,  and if you can create calming rituals within your home, space or place, your life will be much more nourishing and it's what I try to achieve daily."

so to take you back a few years ago we asked fibi how, or more importantly why she started the commonfolk collective.  "A few years ago, I hit rock bottom after my mum passed away suddenly from cancer. It was some of the toughest times I have had. I did some serious soul searching and began rebuilding who I was, and how I wanted to show up in the world. i created and have used the commonfolk collective to channel my grief and I have become so passionate about creating products that will make you smile, share the love and remind you (and me) to live in the now"

our mission:

to create products that will calm your space and soothe you soul. In this fast pace world we live in, we need feel good rituals to remind us to slow down and take a moment and renew our energy.

our candles:

  • our candles made with australian made, renewable natural, creamy pure soy + coconut wax

  • our candles have no nasty chemicals or toxins.

  • our candles are made with custom australian made fine fragrance oils and enriched with essential oils.

  • our candles are created and lovingly poured on the mornington peninsula, australia.

  • we use natural non toxic wicks.

  • our candle jars are a custom made elegant jar with the intent to be re-purposed after candle use.

  • we love reusing our jars in the bathroom for cotton buds and hair ties, in our workspace for pens or stacked with mints for work meetings, and we fill them with teabags in the kitchen..............the list goes on.

  • show us how you re-use yours and tag us #commonfolkjar
